Dod Dhs Memorandum Of Agreement 2018

A month ago, the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation to improve U.S. cybersecurity capabilities. Concretely, the threefold objective of the memorandum is to improve cybersecurity cooperation in strategic planning, capacity development and missionary activities. The agreement pursues these objectives by outlining specific common and individual responsibilities for both departments. As part of the deal, the departments will jointly prioritize a list of civilian assets that are critical to “the U.S. military`s ability to wage and win wars and project power” and work to protect them, said Jeanette Manfra, DHS`s chief cybersecurity officer.
